  1. Thanks for the chance to win those goodies and pattern! Our fav Christmas tradition is always going to the late mass at church Christmas Eve, then having people over after to spread some christmas cheer!!

  2. Hi! Welcome to blogland. I’m adding you to my Google Reader.
Favorite holiday tradition: Before we go to bed on Christmas Eve we always read “The Night Before Christmas” in front of the fireplace.

  3. I love your little handmade bag! Would like to win it.
Since we have kids, they’re still small, we have christmas-lunch instead of dinner. We spend a lot of time at the lunch-table while the kids play around.

  4. My favorite holiday tradition is that we all give eachother a book. The book is a bigger deal that all of the other gifts.

Thanks for hosting the give away!

  5. Pick me! Pick me! đŸ™‚ Maybe if I leave a million comments then you’ll have to pick me. đŸ™‚ Just joking, friend! When I think of my favorite Christmas tradition I think of a few things…first of all I always get a can of black olives in my stocking (this has been happening since I was 9 or so); my family always pops those popper things during Christmas dinner and then we wear the paper crowns throughout dinner; but I think our richest family tradition is when we all gather around the piano and sing “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel! đŸ™‚ Random traditions but they are ours!

  6. Fudge….

Yep, that’s definitely my favorite Christmas tradition. Making different flavors, eating them all, the bellyache from eating too much fudge.

And a close second is that every year our family hosts a big graham-cracker-house building party.

  7. My favorite Christmas tradition would have to be the stockings filled to the brim Christmas morning. We were never allowed to touch our gifts until my parents woke up, but we’d sneak downstairs early in the morning to stockings overflowing with little goodies that we were free to eat or play with… I’m still a sucker for a full stocking. I’d rather have that than a huge gift.

  8. I love that little bag! My favorite holiday tradition changes every year, but I think this year it is decorating my house with fun, silly little kid type things.

  9. Beautiful giveaway! We started a new tradition about 8 years or so ago — No cooking on Christmas day! I make exception by tossing a French toast casserole (prepared the day before) in the oven for breakfast. Lunch is a deli tray of veggies and meat (for the nonvegetarians in the house), lots of good bread and sandwhich fixings. It really does make the day more festive and relaxed!

  10. You mean I’m the first to post? What gives? This is gorgeous! I wish everyone good luck and thank you for holding such an awesome give away!

  11. This is a great giveaway! My favorite Christmas tradition was when I was growing up at home we would bake yummy goodies the night before until midnight then go to Midnight mass. On Christmas day we would eat all the yummy goodness we baked the night before. I think I might have to continue this when my kids get a little bit older.

  12. Holy cow. I think this is the very first time I have been first to comment. My favorite Christmas tradition is taking turns opening gifts with the youngest going first.

  13. My favourite tradition is the book we read running up to christmas, it’s called ‘the christmas mystery’ and it’s sort of like a book-as-an-advent calender. When we were wee, my mum would read it to us, these days we all have our own copies!

  14. thanks for participating! my favorite Christmas tradition is having the feast of the 7 fishes at my parent’s house. Now, i don’t actually partake in the feast, i’m not a huge fan of baccala, smelts and eels! but i love the tradition. My mom was born in italy, and i love keeping this part of her past alive!

  15. What a delightful bag of goodies! I want to be picked, but then again, I assume everyone does. *sigh*

My favourite holiday tradition is the morning of Christmas Day the boys look for the hidden Christmas pickle on the tree. The one who finds it receives a gift (it is always some sort of activity the entire family can enjoy) and then we spend the day just being together. đŸ™‚

  16. Actually, our favorite tradition started when my daughter S told my Mom that every year when we put up our tree we hold hands and sing, “O Tannenbaum.” (Which has never happened at our house.)

Consequently, we decided that what fit our family most was decorating the tree while playing “Baba O’Reilly” by The Who. With a little added festive air guitar for flair.

    Would love to win!

  17. My favorite holiday tradition is on Christmas Eve we all watch a Christmas movie with the fireplace blazing and my children get to open a present (always new jammies!)!

  18. Christmas tradition have been changing through the years… but what always remains the same it the Christmas dinner with family. Whether if it’s with my family or my husband’s love and thankfulness are always abundant. Next year we get to share our Christmas dinner with another set of twins. They will be about 8 months old and my twins will be 3 1/2.. can’t wait until they are old enough for my girls to play with.

  19. My favorite Holiday tradition is the Advent Calendar. Every day in December before Christmas you get to unwrap a small toy or piece of candy. This helps to count down the days to Christmas and shorten the waiting time for Santa to arrive.

    What a great give-away.

  20. fav tradition is a community christmas party at my parents then everyone sings carols around the christmas tree at the community beach followed by a visit from santa at a neighbors garage where all the kids get their first present. i did this as a child and take my kids back to my parents for them to enjoy it.

    thanks for the giveaway!

  21. shriek! that little bag is so wonderful! i can’t name a particular christmas tradition–it’s a strange mixture of his family & mine now. if he’s home, it’s the best christmas ever! his is hanging hand-beaded stockings from his grandma. how do i top THAT?

  22. Yay, its gotta be timing to see how long it will take Dad to fall asleep after leaving the table after Christmas dinner… i think his record is 23 mins!
    Please count me in đŸ˜€
    Merry christmas!

  23. Thanks for hosting such a nice givaway! I’d love to win that bag of goodies. My favorite family tradition is selecting one special gift to give to another family member on Christmas Eve. We give all the rest of the gifts on Christmas Day, but we get one gift on Christmas Eve.

  24. Thanks for the fun giveaway…I love going to the candlelight service at our church and taking a walk at night after opening presents when everyone else is inside!

  25. I love stringing popcorn with our daughter for the tree. đŸ™‚ It started when our oldest was a teenager and wanted to try it one year, and everyone loved it so it stuck! We also make some sort of ornament each year, so unwrapping the decorations is also a great one… lots of good memories…

    Thanks for the fun!

  26. Lovely bag! đŸ™‚

My favorite Christmas tradition is going out to pick out our Christmas tree. It was so much fun last year, chasing my toddler down the tree aisles until we found the PERFECT tree. I just love the smell of a fresh Christmas tree! đŸ™‚

  27. …I’d like soooo much to win your pretty giveaway, I love that little hand-made bag ceramic…so I’ll keep my fingers crossed, goodness knows if Fortune, in the day before my birthday (yes, yes, it’s tomorrow, 4th of december! :o)…), will smile on me! ;o)

A big hug from Italy and thanks again so much for this chance!

  28. My favorite Christmas Tradition consists of squeezing our ever growing extended family into a tiny A-frame cabin for two days. We laugh, we eat, we laugh, we eat… you get the picture. đŸ™‚

What a fun idea! Oh, and I totally LOVE the bag! You’re so very talented…

  29. My hubby and I like to drive around, looking at lights, and counting all of those prelit deers on people’s lawns… for some reason there are alot around here. Hope I win!

  30. My favorite Christmas Tradition that my mom started when I was a child was to sometime during the week of chrstmas, but before christmas we would go to McDonalds drive thru and then drive around town for a few hours looking at all of the Christmas Lights. I have passed this tradition on with my daughter BUT we all get in our Jammies on Christmas EVE and drive around looking at the lights.

  31. When i was a little girl and didn’t have money to buy Christmas gifts for my extended family, I’d spend an entire day making sugar cookies for everyone. Now everyone asks about the cookies.

Thank you for a chance at the giveaway and have a great holiday.

  32. Yep, sure sounds good. Such a generous and lovely giveaway!
My all time favourite is lighting the candles in the tree. Real tree. Real candles. Nothing else will do.

  33. My favorite tradition is lots of time spent with my daughters and our friends making handmade gifts. We don’t make them for everyone always, but we certainly try and get very into it. Dipping beeswax candles is a nice lazy afternoon with a few special families.
    Happy Holidays!

  34. My favorite holiday tradition is one my mom did with me and I now do with my kids. They get to open one gift on Christmas eve, it’s always new pj’s. They slip them on and we cuddle on the couch to read a new holiday book ( buy a new one each year). I love having that special moment with my kids!

  35. This is so cute! I would love to win. My favorite holiday tradition is to attend church on Christmas Eve for the candle light service.

  36. I love Amy Butler’s patterns!
My favourite Christmas tradition is that we always write a rhyme for the gifts and try to guess what’s in it before we are allowed to open it. That’s sometimes even nicer than the actual gift inside! đŸ™‚

  37. My favorite holiday tradition is for the night before the winter solstice, the longest night of the year–before the sun sets we put candles in all of the rooms of our home. After the sunsets we go around and light them again, to remind us that even in darkness, light comes again.

  38. Our favorite tradition is “Elfie” who arrives on St Nicholas Day (December 6th). He is an little plush elf who magically reports back to Santa and moves around every day so the kids have to find him. Then he magically disappears on Christmas Eve and in his place is an enormous stocking filled with Christmas pj’s for all.

  39. Beautiful giveaway! Our Christmas tradition comes from DH’s family. They do puzzle tags on gifts. You have to puzzle out the answer to riddle or whatever to figure out who the gift belongs to, and then give it to that person. After the person opens his/her gift, that person chooses a gift from under the tree and starts their own puzzle solving. đŸ™‚

  40. My favorite Christmas Tradition is baking sugar cookies! I do the baking then all the kids in the family do the decorating. They have their own competition and vote on their cookies, make a huge mess and eat lots of cookies!

Thanks for a chance to win such lovely prizes.

  41. We have many family traditions. The kids get an ornament every year. It is then marked with their name and date. New Christmas p.j.’s to open christmas eve and we put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving. Just a few of our traditions that have developed over the years.

  42. The bag is lovely and I would love it!

Our favorite tradition is sitting down and cracking a bottle of champagne just before we light the tree for the first time with everyone present!

    Sandy in NJ

  43. My favorite holiday tradition is a gift of new PJs on Christmas Eve. My parents did that with me and now I keep up the tradition with my son!

  44. Oooh, what an adorable bag! My family holiday traditions have fallen by the wayside for me over the past several years, as I don’t live close enough to go home to my parents for Christmas anymore. However, my boyfriend and I have started a new tradition of our own (I hope). Last year, and hopefully again this year, we’ve gone cross-country skiing on Christmas day. I’m a midwestern girl by birth, now transplanted to the West coast, and Christmas just doesn’t feel like Christmas to me without snow. And if I can’t have it in my own back yard, I’m perfectly happy to drive to it. đŸ™‚

  45. What a cute little bag! My fave christmas tradition is excited photos in front of the tree before anyone gets to open up gifts. The wiggling is out of control! Thanks for the giveaway!

  46. My favorite xmas tradition is getting our xmas tree on xmas eve…i’ve done it every year since i was a little kid and even now that I’m married whenever I go home my entire family gets in the car and gets our xmas tree on xmas eve. Then we decorate it while listening to xmas songs and eating holiday cookies. =)

  47. What a great little bag ‘O goodies! Like getting an early Christmas stocking. One of our favorite traditions is reading an old Christmas book aloud together it is called ‘Mr Willowby’s Christmas Tree’ It is a sweet poetic story about a man getting his tree which turns out to be too big so off comes the top to be thrown out. Then someone else gets that part and again it is too big so out with the top again. Round and round it goes till the very teny top is the tree for the mice who live in Mr Willowby’s house.
    Thanks

  48. lots of family tradition over the years…new pj’s on christmas eve, picking out a living christmas tree and planting it in the front yard after christmas, but what i have found is as kids grow up traditions change but that’s ok. now just having everyone home is enought of a tradition

  49. We make a whole day of putting up the Christmas tree together and even the little ones join in by helping to hang ornaments. They may need a little assistance from mom or dad, but everyone helps. We have Christmas music playing in the background while we decorate. Then hot chocolate for all as we enjoy the lights of the Tree. It really brings us all closer together.

  50. Our favorite tradition is playing hide and seek with the whole family, young and old. The adults get quite creative with the hiding spots.

  51. My fave Christmas tradition is watching A Christmas Story and sharing one present on Christmas Eve. My boyfriend and I have added a new tradition a few years back and that’s to buy a set of Christmas ornaments that is one dog and one cat to symbolize my boyfriend (dog) and me (cat).

  52. Gorgeous bag! Favorite tradition? Dressing up (my five year old loves a fancy dress) and going with friends to see The Nutcracker and out for flatbread pizza afterwards. This weekend it is happening, yay!

  53. My new favorite Christmas tradition (can it be a tradition after one year? well, it is now) is the Jesse tree that my family does together every night. Helps you stay focused on the reason for the season.

    Thanks for doing this!

  54. My favorite Christmas tradition is getting together for a big turkey dinner with family on Christmas Day and then spending the evening enjoying each others company.

I love your giveaway so would you please my name in the hat.

  55. My new and favourite Christmas tradition is paddling in the sea after eating way too much for lunch đŸ™‚ We’ve been doing this since we moved to Cyprus 3 and a half years ago!

  56. My favorite holiday tradition is making and then using an advent calender with my girls. They get so excited about the holidays and it helps them see how many more days they have to go.

  57. My favorite Xmas tradition is the “invisible friend” I play with my parents, sisters and inlaws. Since we are a whole bunch, we just pick randomly a person and we give him/her a really really nice present. But the best are the days before the present-giving ceremony… trying to guess who’s got who!!!

Thanks for this giveaway, and please count me in if you’re willing to ship to Barcelona, Spain!

  59. Love the bag – I have a fondness for bags! One of my favorite traditions is cocoa and driving around looking lights and decorations on houses.

  60. One of my favorite traditions is getting together with my mom and sister and baking cookies. We don’t get to do it as often anymore but it still stands out in my mind.

  61. My favorite Christmas tradition is watching “A Christmas Story” with my family. Thanks for the napkin tutorial, btw.

  62. My favourite tradition is our “Christmas Cake Lucky Stir” tradition. In my family every year we make a christmas cake (you know the one with all of the fruit in it? Usually called a fruit cake?) When we were younger we’d all go to my grandparents house a few days before Christmas and each person would get a chance to make a wish while stiring the cake batter.

Well years have gone by and we’ve all moved around a bit, so we can’t always get together for Christmas. So here’s what we do: Each family contributes ingredients to the mix – flour, sugar, nuts, dried fruit etc. One family is desiganted the “baker” to receive all of the ingredients. Before you send your ingredients to the “baker” you and your family each take a turn stirring your ingredient and make a wish. That way when the entire thing is combined it still has everyone’s wishes in it!

  66. Snap! Same question as I gave for my giveaway! Isn’t it fun hearing about people’s traditions?

Mine is Christmas tree decorations. It’s traditional in our family to have ones that really mean something…like they’re from somewhere we’ve visited/lived or given to us by someone special. All our ornaments tell a story and I love it!

  67. My favorite holiday tradition is singing carols while my mom plunks down on the piano for the whole neighborhood to hear. But this year, since we will be my husband’s family instead, I will likely nudge him to play (he’s the professional musician, anyway) and we can start a new tradition with his family. Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway! God Bless!

I love getting ready for Santa’s visit with the kids Christmas Eve, and after they’ve gone to bed, leaving all the “evidence” that he came- snowy sparkly footprints, eaten cookies (DH’s fav part), I rearrange all the stuffed animals to look at the front door, tie ribbons on them and give each a candy cane!! And I love going to church and hearing the carols.

  84. Since moving to the States and spending pretty much every Christmas with my husband’s family, a lot of my traditions have fallen by the wayside, but I like the new one we’ve made up: my kids make ornaments each year for the tree.
